The client required a portable radiation portal monitor capable of screening large populations for contamination to enhance the country’s nuclear safety measures.
🚧 Challenge:
The solution needed to be lightweight and easily portable by one person, able to operate under harsh environmental conditions, and have a reliable battery backup to ensure continuous functionality. Polimaster’s existing Deployable RPM system was a strong starting point, but for Ghana’s specific application, the monitor also required a video surveillance system, Wi-Fi communication capabilities, and the ability to function in temperatures as high as +60°C.

The modified system was equipped with advanced video surveillance integration, Wi-Fi communication for real-time data transfer, and enhanced durability to withstand extreme temperatures. Additionally, it retained its lightweight and portable design, making it ideal for field deployment.

On April 24-27, Polimaster conducted training for the Nuclear Regulatory Authority in Ghana on the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Deployable Radiation Portal Monitor PM5000C-05M.
