📩 Request:
The client needed Bluetooth functionality integrated into Polimaster PM1401K-3P Multipurpose Hand-Held Radiation Monitor/Identifier, enabling remote control and data transfer to their environmental monitoring network via mobile devices. Additionally, they requested a graphical display of gamma count rates in the Search mode for improved data interpretation.
🚧 Challenge:
The main challenge was to implement Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality without compromising the device's original features. The solution had to support remote operation and data transmission while introducing a user-friendly graphical interface for gamma radiation detection.
🔍 Solution:
Polimaster successfully integrated a BLE module certified for use in Japan into the PM1401K-3P, allowing full remote control and seamless data transfer. The user interface was enhanced with a histogram display for gamma count rates, complementing the numerical data and improving the ease of detection for firefighters in high-pressure situations.
✅ Outcome:
The upgraded device met the Japanese Fire Departments’ requirements, enhancing remote functionality and improving data visualization for more efficient identification of gamma radiation sources in the field.
